YEREVAN. – Mikayel Hayrapetyan-led Conservative Party of Armenia issued a statement, whereby it called upon the country’s citizens to cast their ballots in favor of presidential candidate, opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan in the election to be conducted on February 18.

“Central Board of the Conservative Party proposes the body politic to vote for candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, who pledges the highest degree of sovereignty for Armenia. Armenia’s potential accomplishment in such elections can solely be that it will be shown that Armenia’s body politic possesses a significant mass of advocates of statehood, which is sufficient to play the role of a lightning conductor in the case of the expected external inroads against the degree of Armenia’s sovereignty,” the Conservative Party’s statement reads in particular.
