YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Police received information, on Wednesday at 4:30pm, notifying that Daniel I. (born in 1987) called a capital city Yerevan police precinct and informed that presidential candidate, opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian’s activists were beaten.

The police officers invited Arman Gh. (born in 1992), Satenik M. (born in 1991), Kamo A. (born in 1993), and Sargis K. (born in 1990) to the precinct, Police Media Department informs. 

Arman Gh. informed that he is a volunteer worker at Hovannisian’s campaign headquarters and, together with his friend Kamo A., they were distributing pamphlets in a building, during which Kamo A. had picked up the broom that was placed at the building entrance and begun sweeping. In this connection, building resident Sargis K. had chastised him and, during the ensuing argument, had hit him and his friend.      

A forensic medical examination is commissioned, and an investigation is launched.
