YEREVAN. – The military cooperation between Armenia and the United States bears a regular nature and it develops in a consistent manner, Armenian defense minister’s spokesperson, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on US Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel’s statement with respect to expanding cooperation with Armenia in the defense sector.   

In Hovhannisyan’s words, good relations are created between both countries in terms of military cooperation, and Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s visit to US last year is a proof of these ties.   

“Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with the US,” the spokesperson stressed.

Earlier, former US Senator, Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel had urged to expand military ties with Armenia.
