YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday received the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev, who is leading the CIS observation mission to Armenia’s forthcoming presidential election.
Nalbandian noted that Armenia will continue its active engagement with CIS, in all areas of activity. In his turn, the CIS executive secretary highly appreciated Armenia’s involvement in the activities of the Commonwealth, and expressed a satisfaction by the productive cooperation.
Nalbandian and Lebedev discussed the carrying out of observation missions during Armenia’s presidential vote, which will be held on February 18. In this regard, the CIS executive secretary noted that around 210 observers will conduct an observation mission under the auspices of the CIS.
The interlocutors also discussed the ongoing cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth, and the preparations for the upcoming CIS sessions.
