YEREVAN.- U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern met on Monday with the head of Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan.

Talking to reporters, Heffern avoided commenting on election violation reports, Lragir.am informed. He said the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission will give the assessment on behalf of the international community.

He noted the Embassy is following the voting process. Ambassador recalled that Tigran Mukuchyan assured that investigations into election violations would be held and those responsible would be punished.

John Heffern called on the voters to report about any violations and to make the officials take moves for elections to be free and fair.
