YEREVAN. – Armenian presidential candidate, former FM of Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] Arman Melikyan has released a statement claiming about the falsification of elections.

“The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (CEC) has submitted data that already 1,259,374 people have cast their votes as of 5.00 pm., that is 100 percent of potential voters present in Armenia. This means that the elections are already falsified, as was predicted earlier, neglecting this reality and the readiness of the Armenian citizens, political powers and candidates to accept the results of the ‘elections’ makes them the co-participant of the illegality, which is for another time taking away the right of a citizen to form the authority via free will.

We consider especially important to touch upon the perspectives of recognizing the results of the elections by the international observation missions. The fact that the Armenian authorities bully over their own citizens by calling this process ‘an election’ should be natural for an authority with this qualities but when international observers take part in the aforesaid affair via the same method, it will be called nothing else but feeble effort against Armenia’s statehood and democratic values in our country,” the release reads.
