STEPANAKERT.- President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election for the second presidential term.

I cordially congratulate you on the convincing victory gained in presidential elections.

Knowing you as a person, statesman and politician who puts the nation’s interests above everything else I am confident that you will direct all your efforts, life experience, knowledge and skills to strengthening the Armenian statehood, reinforcing the country’s defense capability and implementing of national programs.

On behalf of the Artsakh people, the authorities and personally myself I congratulate you cordially once more and wish you peace, health and all the best. I wish you success in your path to secure and prosperous Armenia!” the message reads.

According to preliminary results issued by Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan received 58.64%, while his closest rival Raffi Hovannisian -36.74. The voter turnout reached 1, 521, 931.
