YEREVAN. – Armenia’s presidential contender, “Radio Hay” Company Manager, and political scientist Andreas Ghukasyan—who is on a hunger strike ever since January 21 and under the slogan “Stop Fake Elections”—just left from the area of his action. Ghukasyan’s supporters packed up his tent while he headed home.

Before leaving, however, Ghukasyan spoke with several news reporters. Also, he thanked the police officers, who were ensuring his safety all through his hunger strike, and to the citizens who supported him.

Reflecting on the incident that occurred during the news conference of the representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), Ghukasyan considered such development to be only natural.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the OSCE and the OSCE/ODIHR news conference on Tuesday—and which was devoted to the results of Monday’s presidential election in Armenia—was crashed.

A group of activists broke into the news conference hall, once the event had kicked off, and they flopped the gathering, Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs.

A female activist read aloud a text, in which it was noted that Monday’s vote was marred with election violations and the European observers have no right to approve the results of this election.

The security personnel attempted to remove activist, but they were unable because her fellow supporters surrounded her and did not allow for her to be taken out.

As a result, the observation mission representatives left the news conference hall for some time.

Also, the protesters were shouting, “Go home!”

To the news reporters’ query as to who they are, the protesters noted that they are Armenian citizens who demand that the European observers leave Armenia and not approve the results of the unlawful election.
