YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday met with Haoliang Xu, the Deputy Regional Director for Europe and the CIS of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Nalbandian noted that last year Armenia marked 20th anniversary of its membership in UN and, over the course of these twenty years, Armenia is actively engaged in the activities of this organization. The minister also expressed a satisfaction by the productive activities being conducted by the UN Office in Armenia.      

In his turn, Haoliang Xu gave a high assessment to the ongoing cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the UNDP, and noted that the United Nations programs in Armenia are becoming more effective and comprehensive.  

The interlocutors shared the view that the 2010-2015 UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF), which was approved in 2009, includes matters whose implementation will enable Armenia to carry out the programs that are envisioned by the Millennium Development Goals.
