Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić awarded Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan with the Republic of Serbia Medal of Order on a Ribbon.   

The presidents of ten other post-Soviet countries likewise were awarded with this medal, the Serbian president’s official Facebook page informs. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, was awarded with the Republic of Serbia Medal of Order on a Grand Chain, RIA Novosti News Agency of Russia reports.

To note, the aforesaid Serbian medal of order has two degrees: On a grand chain (1st degree), which is bestowed upon the presidents of countries, or to sovereign states; and On a Ribbon (2nd degree), which is awarded to presidents, or heads of governments.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Committee confirmed on Monday a protocol on final results of the February 18 presidential elections. Incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan won elections in the first round, getting 58.64 percent (861,373 votes). Head of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian was the second with 36.75 percent of voters (539,693).
