YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has not yet discussed its list wherewith it will run in the capital city Yerevan Council election that is slated for May 5. But RPA has a strong team which is led by Mayor-in-Office, Taron Margaryan, RPA Press Secretary, and National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“This team worked nobly in the recent years, and Taron Margaryan’s standing as mayor is fairly high; this team is able to solve numerous problems,” Sharmazanov said, but added that this is his personal view, since the party has not yet taken up this matter.

To the query as to whether Margaryan will head the RPA proportional election list in the forthcoming Yerevan Council voting, Eduard Sharmazanov responded as follows:

“In my view, there is no reason why Taron Margaryan should not head the list.”
