YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly’s (NA) “revolutionary” MPs—namely, Nikol Pashinyan from the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and Zaruhi Postanjyan from the opposition Heritage Party—decided to turn down the invitation to US, and therefore they will stay in capital city Yerevan to take part in the post-presidential-election developments, Zhoghovurd daily reports.
“Along the lines of a US Embassy-organized program, NA MPs Elinar Vardanyan from the PAP [Prosperous Armenia Party], Artak Zakaryan from the [ruling Republican Party] RPA, Nikol Pashinyan from the ANC, and Zaruhi Postanjyan from Heritage were to head to US today [Friday].
And even though Pashinyan and Postanjyan were granted a US visa, they informed yesterday [Thursday] that they are busy and will stay in Armenia. As a result, solely Vardanyan and Zakaryan will head to the US,” Zhoghovurd writes.
