On February 16, President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Bako Sahakyan held a meeting in Yerevan with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev.

The Head Information Department, NKR presidential staff, informed NEWS.am that the sides discussed issues of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.

The NKR President expressed his appreciation of the OSCE’s efforts to contribute to the settlement of the conflict. Bako Sahakyan stressed the necessity for restoring the negotiation format approved at the OSCE Summit in Budapest.

The NKR leader stated that the conflict is impossible to settle without Nagorno-Karabakh’s immediate involvement. President Sahakyan expressed the confidence that the problem can only be resolved in a peaceful way, but Azerbaijan’s destructive position is one of the major obstacles.

The NKR President pointed out the need for the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to visit Artsakh to get acquainted with the country.

NKR Foreign Minister Georgy Petrosyan participated in the meeting.
