YEREVAN. – During his talk with journalists on Monday, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan presented details about his post-presidential-election meeting with opposition Heritage Party leader, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who is declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote and who declared a hunger strike on March 10 at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square—, Aravot.am reports.
As per Sargsyan, once the news reporters had left, he had asked Hovannisian whether he thinks that he won the election, and Sargsyan received a negative response. But Hovannisian, in Sargsyan’s words, added that his—that is, Hovannisian’s—team members are confident that the serving president likewise did not win the vote.
Sargsyan and Hovannisian also discussed the possible avenues out of this situation.
Incidentally, Serzh Sargsyan informed that he will not visit Raffi Hovannisian, who is continuing his hunger strike at Liberty Square.
