YEREVAN. – The American national currency continues its “confident rise” in the financial market of Armenia.

The dollar’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 419.18/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Thursday. Thus, the US currency repeated its last five-year record. The last time when the dollar was AMD 419.18/$1 at the stock exchange was on June 22, 2012, whereas a higher exchange rate—AMD 419.33/$1—was recorded solely on June 27, 2006.      

Thursday’s sales totaled $10.5 million at the stock exchange, but this notwithstanding, the offer exchange rate continued to remain high.

The American dollar’s buying exchange rate soared all the way to AMD 418/$1, at the cash foreign currency market of Armenia, and its minimum selling exchange rate is at AMD 420.5/$1.
