YEREVAN.- A man got a gunshot wound as he tried to carry in a knife into the building of Armenia’s National Assembly.
At about 2:30pm the man managed to enter the yard of the parliament and started voicing threats, a source told Armenian News-NEWS.am. Parliament’s security officers ordered him to throw the knife but he disobeyed the order.
Security officers fired shots in the air, but the man did not follow the order. Policemen were forced to fire at his leg.
Doctor of the parliament provided medical aid before the ambulance car arrived. The wounded man was taken to hospital. Parliament’s building is controlled by the police.
