YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is preparing to hold, at the end of this week, a special National Assembly (NA) session devoted to the post-presidential-election developments in the country, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“Our correspondent ascertained that the session is planned for this Friday, but RPA could manage to set it up even for Thursday.

RPA NA Faction leader Galust Sahakyan informed our correspondent that he telephoned all NA faction leaders and conveyed them their draft statement which will become the topic of discussion in the special session.

Even though the draft is not yet made public, our correspondent was able to find out that its content is as follows: ‘We won the February 18 [presidential] elections, but are prepared to listen and discuss what other [political] forces have to say. RPA awaits the factions’ proposals.’

[But] according to our information, no other force, except for RPA and [the coalition government’s junior member, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party] RLP, will sign under RPA’s draft,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
