YEREVAN. – President Valeriu Zgonea of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies—which is the lower chamber of the Parliament of Romania—on Thursday received Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania, Hamlet Gasparyan, and Bishop Datev Hagopian, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Romania.   

The interlocutors reflected on the current state of bilateral relations, and stressed the ongoing active ties plus the decentralized cooperation, which started last year, Armenian MFA press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

Underscoring the role of parliamentary diplomacy, Zgonea stated that he stands ready to contribute to stimulating ties between the parliaments of Armenia and Romania.  

At the end of the talk, the head of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies promised to pay a visit to Armenia at the first chance.
