At the invitation of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation (RF), an Armenian delegation, led by Constitutional Court President Gagik Harutyunyan, paid an official visit to Saint Petersburg, Russia, between Monday and Friday.

On Tuesday, a roundtable discussion was held devoted to the activities of the Armenian and Russian Constitutional Courts. Chairman Valery Zorkin of the RF Constitutional Court and Harutyunyan moderated the event.   

On the same day, Gagik Harutyunyan was ceremoniously awarded the honorary doctorate degree of the North-West Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The chief judge of the Armenian Constitutional Court also delivered a lecture entitled, “The True Face of Transformational Constitutionality,”  

On Wednesday, the Armenian delegation members visited the Saint Catherine’s Armenian Church of Saint Petersburg and, at the Armenian Cultural Center, met with representatives of the city’s Armenian community.
