YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President, Serzh Sargsyan, on Friday received Bradley Busetto, the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia.
The President congratulated Busetto on his appointment, and expressed a hope that he will give new impulse to Armenia-UN cooperation, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
In Sargsyan’s words, last year’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the UN Office in Armenia enabled to assess the Office’s considerable work it conducted in the country, and this makes it possible to state that the UN Yerevan Office has always been the most active supporter and partner of the Government of Armenia.
The interlocutors reflected on Armenia’s priorities and programs for the coming years. In this context, the UN resident coordinator in the country recorded that the priorities which Sargsyan noted coincide with the UN objectives, and this makes the cooperation become even more productive.
Busetto also assured that he will do his utmost, during his term in office, to further strengthen the Armenia-UN interaction, and to contribute to Armenia’s sustainable development and strengthening of democracy.
