YEREVAN. – No airline by the name of Krunk Air is registered in Armenia, Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) Press Secretary Nelly Cherchinyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The list of companies that are licensed to operate airplanes is posted on our website, [and] there is no Krunk Air among them; we have not even received a petition from such company,” Cherchinyan added.       

To the query as to whether the matter of allocating the status of Armenia’s national carrier is discussed, in light of the current financial situation at Armavia Airline Company—which recently declared that it will commence a bankruptcy process—, the GDCA representative said talks with the potential investors will not start before the end of April, when there should be a clarity on the situation concerning Armavia.     

To note, there are eleven companies in the list.
