YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan addressed a message of condolence to British Prime Minister David Cameron, in connection with the passing of former British PM Margaret Thatcher. 

“We were deeply saddened by the news of the death of Margaret Thatcher. She has left an indelible mark. Margaret Thatcher’s principled nature and reliability, her striking individuality, [and] dedication to serve her country have become a legend when she was still alive and inspired numerous politicians.   

The assistance provided to the Armenian people on behalf of the United Kingdom [and] with her leadership, and her visit to the disaster zone in the years of the catastrophic earthquake [in 1988] are well-remembered in Armenia.

In connection with this irreversible loss, I express my heartfelt sorrow to the government and people of the United Kingdom, to the relatives and friends of Margaret Thatcher,” President Serzh Sargsyan’s message of condolence specifically reads.
