YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Acting PM Tigran Sargsyan received Miroslav Lajčák, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia.

“Your visit will give new impetus to consolidating bilateral relations. We are convinced that there is a huge potential for developing Armenian-Slovak relations, [and] first and foremost, in the domain of economy,” Sargsyan said in particular, the interim Armenian Government press service informs.    

In his turn, Lajčák gave a high assessment to the present-day political cooperation. Also, the Slovak FM expressed a satisfaction by the results of the Armenian-Slovak business forum being held in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. In this context, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for strengthening ties in pharmacy and in jewelry, and Slovak companies’ potential involvement in the construction of Armenia’s North-South Road.  

“We follow your country’s progress. We wish to congratulate you, especially for achieving significant results on the road to European integration. Armenia develops its cooperation with the EU. I am happy that your country is one of the successful participants in the [EU] Eastern Partnership Project,” the deputy PM and FM of Slovakia noted.    

He also expressed his country’s assistance to the implementation of Armenia’s ongoing reforms and in the country’s European integration process.     

In addition, Miroslav Lajčák conveyed to Tigran Sargsyan the Slovak PM’s warm greetings and his invitation to Slovakia.
