YEREVAN. – The interim Government of Armenia has commenced talks with ruling Republican Party former MP, businessman Harutyun Pambukyan so that, after the bankruptcy of Armavia Airline Company—which is Armenia’s national carrier—, he may organize, with appropriate investments, aviation passenger transportation in Armenia, Zhoghovurd daily reports.

“In an interview with Zhoghovurd, however, the Armenian Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation Head Artyom Movsisyan denied these rumors.

To note, Armavia Airline Company stopped its operations as of April 1, [and] due to accumulated debts, and it is preparing to commence a bankruptcy process,” Zhoghovurd writes.
