Charles Aznavour—who is Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland, National Hero of Armenia, world-renowned French-Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, and public activist—reflected, on the air of RTL television, on the policy which French President François Hollande conducts. He asked the President to “change the political course,” and to “do this as soon as possible,” Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly of France reports.

“The Socialist Party irritates me because every time when there is something for the Armenians, they vote against us,” he said.

Aznavour was speaking about the French bill that criminalizes the denial of genocides—including the Armenian Genocide—, which former President Nicolas Sarkozy wished to pass, but the leftists were accusing him of carrying out activities solely based on pre-election considerations. This notwithstanding, they voted in favor of this bill, whose pioneers were they themselves.
