The Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group convened a regular session on Wednesday, and Armenia’s Ambassador to Canada, Armen Yeganyan, likewise attended the event.
In his remarks, Yeganyan reflected on the 25th anniversaries of the Karabakh movement and the Armenian pogroms in Sumgait, Azerbaijan. The ambassador provided information on the tragedy in Sumgait, and stressed that the impunity of this crime served as basis in Azerbaijan for a growing hatred toward Armenians and for the perpetration of further massacres.
During the session, the participants also discussed several matters of regional importance.
