YEREVAN.-  – The EU Centre, the European Union communication hub in Armenia, will start holding opening hours for the public on Saturday, 20 April 2013.

From now on, the Centre will be open for interested visitors Monday to Friday from 15:00 – 17:00 and on Saturdays from 12:00 – 16:00.

The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea emphasizes that Armenian people are the main beneficiaries of all EU-funded projects in Armenia.

“The EU supports reforms in Armenia, but the implemented reforms should be supported by public”, the Ambassador said. The EU Centre was established to explain what the EU does in Armenia and how its projects support reforms, as well as to build public confidence in the EU and its activities.

The EU Centre has a visitors’ area with free information materials. People can also use two computers available for them to surf the Internet on EU related matters.

According to the Team Leader of the project Ehtel Halliste, the Centre will provide people with information about the EU and EU-funded projects in Armenia.

 “People desire knowledge by nature and we are here to help them with information or direct them to the right sources”, said Ms Halliste.

The EU Centre is the main feature of the EU funded project “Support to EU communication on reforms in Armenia”. It is a professional communication facility that coordinates communication activities of the EU funded projects in Armenia. The Centre’s website is a gateway to EU cooperation with Armenia.

The duration of the project is two years and it is implemented by GOPA-Cartermill S.A in consortium with Altair Asesores and Fainberg LLC.
