YEREVAN. – The tragedy of the Armenian people marked the beginning of other tragic events, Poland’s Ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski said.

Talking to reporters, Ambassador recalled that the Sejm of Poland recognized the tragic fact in 2005.

Poland, a country which had seen the horrors of fascism, can not adhere to other position, Ambassador noted.

“The tragedy of the Armenian people marked the beginning of another tragic event. The memory should be stored to avoid such tragedies in the future,” Raczynski said.

Asked whether Poland, following the example of France, has an intention to initiate adoption of the law criminalizing genocide denial, Ambassador said there is no such process.
