YEREVAN. – Australia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Paul Myler—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—, on Tuesday presented his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Sargsyan congratulated the ambassador for commencing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, and expressed a hope that Ambassador Myler will make all necessary efforts to expand Armenian-Australian cooperation and to bring a new quality to bilateral relations, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

The Armenian President and the Australian ambassador also underscored the Australian-Armenian community’s role in strengthening bilateral ties. 

Serzh Sargsyan extended his gratitude to the legislative and the executive bodies of the Australian state of New South Wales for their valuable support toward the recognition of the Armenian genocide and of the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Also, the president gave a high assessment to the Armenian-Australian interaction within international organizations. 

In his turn, Ambassador Paul Myler assured President Sargsyan that he will do his utmost to consolidate ties between Armenia and Australia.
