YEREVAN. – This is the second year that International Jazz Day is celebrated in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan on Tuesday, April 30.
In this connection, an open air concert was held in downtown Yerevan, during which well-known and loved jazz pieces were performed with the accompaniment of Armenian national musical instruments.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan likewise was on hand at the event, during which he presented medals of appreciation to several Armenian jazz music artists.
“Celebrating International Jazz Day has become a tradition for Yerevan residents. I wish new creative success to all of our jazz artists and assure that all of their initiatives, which will be intended for further invigorating Yerevan’s cultural life, will receive support from the Yerevan Municipality,” Margaryan stressed.
