YEREVAN. – U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern believes press freedom is a key to Armenia’s success.

Ambassador commented on the latest Freedom of the Press 2013 report issued on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day marked on May 3.

“World Press Freedom Day, Armenia improves standing four spots, from 65 to 61. Press freedom, media access key to Armenia’s success,” he tweeted.

Freedom House issued its annual report assessing the state of media freedom in 197 states last year. According to the report, 63 countries are free, 70 countries – partly free and 64 were rated not free.
