YEREVAN. – Incumbent mayor of Yerevan and head of the Republican campaign headquarters Eduard Sharmazanov met with the delegation of the observation mission of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe headed by Stewart Dickson.

The sides discussed May 5 municipal elections in Yerevan, underscoring importance of holding free, transparent and competitive elections as well as progress registered in development of democratic processes.

Republican Party members presented their assessments of the election campaign, stressing that the party is interested in fair elections held in accordance with the law.
