YEREVAN. – Based on the information received concerning violations during Sunday’s capital city Yerevan Council of Elders election, Armenia’s Police are examining 143 cases.
The aforesaid cases include distribution of election bribes; voting contrary to specified procedure; impeding the voters’ exercise of free will; committing election or voting fraud; multiple voting, or voting in place of someone else; obstructing the empowerment of authorized persons and journalists; violating secret ballot; inaccuracies in voters’ lists; arguments at election precincts; theft at precincts; large crowds nearby precincts; and commuting of constituents.
Reports are being prepared on these cases.
In addition, criminal proceedings are launched, with respect to four cases, on charges of attempting to vote twice.
