The European Night of Museums will take place on 18 May and will coincide with the International Museum Day. The event is held on the initiative of France’s Culture Ministry, with the support of the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

Armenia will join the events for the eighth time this year. European Night of Museums has been marked since 1977 and was joined by Armenia in 2005.

This year the event will be joined by 88 Armenian museums. The suggested theme of the International Museum Day 2013 is Museums (memory + creativity) = social change.

In addition to numerous events, Armenia’s Culture Ministry will hold a workshop with the participation of young scientists on May 22-23, 2013.
