YEREVAN. – Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily reflected on the Armenian government’s consultation meeting that was convened to discuss the situation that was created as a result of the recent hailstorm that devastated the crops in numerous villages.    

“Concluding this defining consultation meeting, [PM] Tigran Sargsyan said: ‘The assistance [to be provided to the villagers] must be significant and relevant. We need to help solely the socially insecure.’

That is to say, solely the ‘socially insecure’ will receive help, and ‘significant and relevant,’ in that. That is, on the basis of the studies [to be conducted] by the community commissions that are set up to check the extent of damage.   

As for the government’s decision to help only the socially insecure, it is interesting [to know] to what percentage of the poor and deprived villagers is Tigran Sargsyan preparing to declare socially secure and not provide assistance,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
