YEREVAN. – A General Consulate of Armenia will be established in Lyon. The decree has been signed by Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan.
General Consulate will cover Rhône-Alpes, Auvergne, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes and Aquitaine regions of France.
The Armenian community in France has 500,000 people and is one of the largest Armenian communities in the world. The community is concentrated in the cities of Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Lyon is home to 100,000 Armenians.
