YEREVAN. – Armenia should give preference to the Eurasian Union, which is being created at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Marxist Party of Armenia leader Davit Hakobyan noted the aforementioned during a press conference on Thursday.
“Europe has made an ultimatum to Armenia, to make a final choice between the European Union [EU] and the Eurasian Union,” Hakobyan said.
He added that if Armenia gives preference to the Eurasian Union, Nagorno-Karabakh likewise could become a member in the Customs Union.
“First and foremost, Russia will not tolerate the unipolar geopolitical policy of the US. Second, Russia is obligated to create a second union to counterbalance EU and NATO,” Hakobyan stated, and added that, from this point of view, Russia will feel the need for its former allies.
