YEREVAN. – Between January and April 2013, individuals’ remittances from abroad to Armenia comprised $437 million, the Armenian Central Bank bulletin informs. 

In April alone, the transfer of funds to Armenia made up about $131 million, against $119 million in March and $103.4 million in February.  

As a result, the country’s remittances increased by $49 million, or by 12.6 percent, as compared to January-April 2012.

In the first four months of this year, Armenia received $356 million from Russia and transferred $56 million, and it received $24 million from the US and remitted $10 million. Also, approximately $7 million were remitted to Armenia from Kazakhstan.
