YEREVAN. – The American national currency is weakening in Armenia’s financial market in parallel with a drop in the foreign currency transactions in the country.   

The banks in Armenia purchased $86.7 million and sold $89 million in the past week, the Central Bank informs, and this is quite a low indicator for a weekly basis.    

From May 27 to June 2, the loans which the banks provided in Armenia’s national currency, the dram, amounted to the equivalent of approximately $86 million, whereas the US dollar loans made up $46.1 million.  

Substantial deviations were not observed in the country’s loan market, as compared to the previous weeks.
