YEREVAN. – The macroeconomic situation in Armenia improved in 2012. 

Finance Minister Davit Sargsyan noted the abovementioned, during Tuesday’s plenary session at the National Assembly, while introducing the performance of the 2012 State Budget.

In the minister’s words, a 7.2-percent economic growth was registered in Armenia in the year past. Industry had a 7-percent real growth, and it contributed to the overall economic growth with a 1.2 percentage point.

Last year’s agricultural growth made up 9.5 percent, and it contributed to the overall economic growth with a 1.9 percentage point. 

In addition, as per Davit Sargsyan, the construction industry in Armenia stabilized in 2012, and it recorded a 3.3-percent growth, as compared to the decline in the previous years.
