YEREVAN. – Armenia is not the only country where there is emigration, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated in the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday.

He responded to opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc NA Faction leader, ANC Party Vice-Chairman Levon Zurabyan’s query as to how can one explain the ongoing emigration from Armenia in the case when the country’s economic growth is said to be more than 7 percent.

“Show [me] another country in transition where there is no emigration. The entire question is what steps are we taking to prevent emigration. But you cannot wash away your hands. You, too, have your share of the responsibility because the citizens do not see any alternative [to the current Armenian authorities]; there is no serious oppositional force on whom the people will pin hopes,” Sargsyan said.
