YEREVAN. – Vice Chairman of Orinats Yerkir Mher Shahgeldyan considers necessary to check whether companies can be registered in someone’s name in offshore zones without the consent of a person.
Speaking during the Wednesday debates in parliament, Tigran Sargsyan said he has no relation to a company allegedly registered in offshore in his name. PM said it is not difficult to register an offshore company without having someone’s permission.
In his turn, Mher Shahgeldyan said that the issue should be clarified by lawyers to find out whether it is easy to register companies in offshore areas. Based on the conclusions, legislation must be changed.
However, he categorically rejected the idea that the Security Council can deal with the issue. When asked whether he puts into question the words of the Prime Minister, he said ‘no.’
“I am not a lawyer, let the lawyers deal with the issue,” the politician concluded.
