YEREVAN. – Armenian MP from Orinats Yerkir party Mher Shahgeldyan called not to link gas price to Armenia-Russia strategic cooperation.

Asked whether it is better to purchase Russian or Iranian gas, Shahgeldyan said the economists must decide.

The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia has recently set a new price of gas supplied by Russia.

Earlier ArmRusgasprom applied to the Commission with an offer to revise the natural gas price. The move was opposed by the Armenian society and provoked several protest actions near the government. The protestors said increase in gas price would affect the prices of consumer goods and services. The opinion was supported by economists, too.
