YEREVAN. – The matter of transferring the Armenian government’s shares in ArmRusGazprom to the Russian side was recently discussed in Moscow with Chairman Alexey Miller of the Board of Directors of Russian energy Gazprom Company. 

Armenia’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan told the aforesaid during a briefing with news reporters on Wednesday.

“[But] no deal is made. The negotiations are underway at this time, but not solely this matter is put on the negotiating table; there are other matters, too,” Movsisyan added.    

He informed that the talks will be completed before the end of the month.

The minister assured, however, that they will see to it that Gazprom would not resort to arbitrariness once it receives 100 percent of the shares of Armenia’s ArmRusGazprom Company, and that it will ensure a stable and a long-term natural gas supply to Armenia.    

At present, 80 percent of the shares in ArmRusGazprom belong to Gazprom and the remaining 20 percent belong to the Government of Armenia.
