YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan commenced Thursday’s Cabinet meeting with a statement on the 2012 report of the Control Chamber (CC) and the respective parliamentary discussions. 

First, Sargsyan stated that he very much wants for all CC findings to be submitted to law enforcement forthwith.   

“Those officials that have misspent the state budget funds should receive the punishment they deserve,” the PM said.  

Second, he stated that procedures should be established whereby the CC report is presented.

“The Control Chamber has no right to make political statements,” Sargsyan added. 

Third, the PM instructed the Government members to respond to all CC accusations. That is, to either deny or submit to the prosecutor’s office, or to publicly state that these accusations are true and be held accountable.
