YEREVAN. – A call was received, on Thursday at 5:49pm, informing that a vehicle had fallen into a canyon nearby Tigranashen village of Armenia’s Ararat Region, there was a gas leak, and rescuers were needed.  

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene, the Rescue Service informs.  

It was found out that an Isuzu Rodeo jeep had gone off road for yet unknown reasons, at Yerevan-Meghri Highway, and fallen approximately 200 meters into a canyon. As a result, driver Seryozha Avagyan, 72, had died on the spot. 

The fire and rescue squad removed the dead man’s body from the vehicle.
