YEREVAN. – Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Friday visited Spayka cargo transportation company to study procurement of apricot.

After inspecting the cold store, Karapetyan told reporters that around 4,500 tons of apricots had been purchased this year.

“The process will continue for a month and a half, and we hope to exceed last year’s indicators,” he said, recalling that 12,700 tons of apricot was purchased in 2012.

Last year Armenia exported 1,200 tons of apricot by June 21, as compared to 4,500 this year, he added. Besides, the price for apricot is not different this year.
