YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has not yet held discussions concerning the regional governors.

RPA National Assembly Faction leader, RPA Vice-Chairman Galust Sahakyan noted the aforesaid during a press conference on Monday.

“We still have not decided which regional governors we will have to dismiss, or will have to resign. The Government will decide,” he added.

Sahakyan assured that the RPA personnel “bank” is very rich, and there needs to be a major mistake or a situation in order to make new changes.

To Armenian News-NEWS.am’s query as to whether former Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan could be reappointed to this post, since a new appointment to this position is constantly put off, the RPA official responded:

“Khachatryan does not intend to become regional governor again. The PM will appoint [a regional governor] when he finds it fitting.”
