An official prize draw of the first EU Bus tour lottery was held at the EU Centre on Monday. The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, HE Ambassador Traian Hristea drew the names of the lucky winners. Armenian Deputy Minister of Justice Yeghisheh Kirakosyan also participated in the official draw.
Lottery participants had to fill in a questionnaire about the European Union and Member States. 1002 people took part in the lottery altogether, 442 during the Europe Day event in Yerevan and the rest when the EU Bus was on its first ever tour in Shirak, Lori and Tavush marzes. 53 people answered all questions correctly and 141 people answered all but one question correctly.
1. The Grand Prix went to Martin Melkonyan, a driver from Agarak, Aragatsotn marz
2. The second prize went to Aram Khachatryan from Yerevan
3. The third prize was Gohar Ghazaryan, a speech therapist from Dilijan
There were several consolation prizes for those who got one question wrong. Please go to our website www.eucentre.am to see the names of all the winners. The EU Centre will also contact the winners directly.
In the words of the Ambassador people were very interested in the lottery. “We were positively surprised by the big number of participants; over 1000 people took part in the lottery.” Traian Hristea said. “We were even more delighted by the fact that a lot of people provided correct answers,” he added.
The Grand Prix is a set of six glasses with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and a goodie bag, the second prize is an umbrella with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and goodie bag and the third prize is a T-shirt with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and a goodie bag.
The EU Centre is the main feature of the EU funded project “Support to EU communication on reforms in Armenia”. It is a professional communication facility that coordinates communication activities of the EU funded projects in Armenia. The centre’s website is a gateway to EU cooperation with Armenia. The duration of the project is two years and it is implemented by GOPA-Cartermill S.A in consortium with Altair Asesores and Fainberg LLC.
