YEREVAN. – The goals of the PACE delegates who expressed their distrust towards the Armenian chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers were clear, Armenian delegate said.
Member of the Armenian delegation to PACE Naira Zohrabyan assured that their initiative failed from the very beginning.
The motion signed by delegates from UK, Spain, Finland, Belgium, Bulgaria and Ireland, contained recommendation to the Committee of Ministers “that they should seriously review the position of Armenia during their incoming presidency and they should apply whatever pressure they can on the Armenian authorities to ensure that they take immediate steps to remedy the position of Armenia as an aggressive State.”
Those signing the motion are bearers of “a title of honorary fans of Azerbaijani caviar money”, the deputy told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Once one of the delegates offered to put the motion to vote, the initiative ended in a fiasco. No one took it seriously,” she said.
Besides, Zohrabyan said on Wednesday an Estonian delegate will present a report “Corruption as a threat to the rule of law”, the part of which is dedicated to “the caviar diplomacy of Azerbaijan.”
“I expect heated debate on the issue,” Armenian delegate said.
